We are a bunch of passionate flower folk who have come together to spread our love of floral design and to share our skills and industry knowledge by offering a range of one-off lifestyle classes + 6 week floral styling short courses + industry related courses for floral & event professionals.

It is our ultimate aspiration that our flower school become Sydney’s premier informative, inclusive, inspiring, supportive, collaborative, creative go-to space for all floral loving folk.

      • Bridal Table Styling

        In this 2.5hr class you will gain the skills for constructing 2 different designs for styling most Bridal Tables. Firstly a front facing trailing design for the front of table and then a design suitable for placing down the centre of a Banquet table.

        COURSE DETAILS
        - This class is open to anyone interested in learning this wedding focussed floral design. You do not have to have any design experience to enrol in this class. In fact, most people who take our classes have no experience.
        - Students are not required to bring any florals, materials or equipment.
        - For Work Health & Safety purpose we request all students wear fully enclosed comfortable footwear.
        - All floral content & materials are all included in the cost of the class & are to be taken by the student upon completion of the class.
        - Classes are limited to 12 students & require a minimum of 4 participants to proceed. You will be contacted should enrolments not meet the minimum required number & a transfer to a future date or credit note will be offered.

      • Floral Event Management

        Sydney Flower School is excited to announce the second offering of our Floral Event Management Course, as an opportunity for students to be involved an annual, ‘real-lfe’ industry event.

        Starting on Sunday 15th July 2018 the Floral Event Mangement course will run over 3 months, with classes being held on a fortnightly basis, & culminating in the installing of floral displays for Rivendell Flower Show.

        The course gives each participant the opportunity to work as part of a real-life project team. These classes will cover everything required to design, plan & manage – not only the Rivendell Flower Show – but any large floral event of similar calibre.

        Due it’s outstanding inaugural success in 2017 the Rivendell Flower Show will be held again, for the 2nd year, on Saturday 6th + Sunday 7th October 2018.

        This is a public, community event showcasing floral + landscape designs, hosted in the unique heritage Thomas Walker Estate (in Concord) over one glorious weekend. The Estate has been the previous location for Lex Luthor’s mansion in Superman Returns and was included in Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby.

        The Rivendell Flower Show is a combination of floral displays, floral gardens, pop up workshops & demonstrations with special guest appearances by some of Australia’s best gardening & floral personalities.

        Sydney Flower School will again be designing, planning, constructing and dismantling all the floral displays on the Front Entrance of the building as well as in both the Entrance Hall & glorious formal Ballroom of Rivendell.

        COURSE STRUCTURE
        Session 1: Sunday 15 July (3 hours)
        Attend Rivendell on-site visit and receive and interpret the client brief

        Session 2: Sunday 29 July (4 hours)
        Planning the design

        Session 3: Saturday 11 August (8 hours)
        (am) Attending a tour of the flower market and visit to sundries supplier / Costing & budgeting
        (pm) Attending a skills class & discussing construction details + requirements

        Session 4: Sunday 26 August (8 hours)
        Logistics and on-the-day event management

        Session 5: Sunday 9 September (6 hours)
        Revisit site + review & confirm logistics

        Session 6: Sunday 23 September (4 hours)
        Event briefing

        Sessions 7 + 8: Wednesday 3 + Thursday 4 October (9 hours both days)
        Hands-on preparation days

        Sessions 9 + 10 + 11: Friday 5 – Sunday 7 October
        Bump in on Friday &/or Bump out on Sunday (after 3pm)
        Onsite management of displays on Saturday &/or Sunday (1/2 day mandatory)

        COURSE DETAILS
        All students who attend this exciting Event Management class will also have access to a closed Facebook ‘Events’ group hosted by Sydney Flower School, which will give students the opportunity to work together as a team, discuss ideas and communicate their plans outside of class time.

        COST
        $2500 incl GST
        The course cost not only includes all course materials, flowers and sundries but the shared knowledge + know-how of respected industry professionals, the invaluable experience of working on a real-life floral event and learnt skills required to plan and execute future events that you, as a trained Floral Events Manager, will be able to offer your future clients.

      • Wedding Bouquet in Easy Bouquet Holder (Bridie)

        This fabulous under-utilised florists sundry item has had bad press in the past due to time labouring construction techniques. We’re on a mission to show the next generation how to use it correctly, using simple & fail proof techniques.

        WHAT WILL I LEARN?
        In this workshop we’ll demonstrate and you’ll create your own beautiful trailing bouquet using the latest simple and secure techniques for designing ANY style wedding bouquet in this easy to use bouquet holder... you will never have to fully wire another bouquet!

        It’s perfect for those with no previous experience and especially those who want to re-skill with this product. We promise to show you fast fail proof techniques for creating a bouquet that will stay fresh for days due to its wet foam water source. Anything from small posies to large multi trailing bouquets – and all designs in between can be created in this fabulous easy to use holder.

        Cost $195 incl all flowers and materials. Note: all Sydney Flower School courses & classes require a minimum of 4 participants to proceed.
